GDPR & Privacy Choices
Understand and manage SmartAbodeLab privacy choices, optional consent categories, newsletter consent, and data-protection requests.
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This page explains how consent is used in SmartAbodeLab's current site experience and how you can change your choices. It is designed to complement the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Manage your choice
Review optional cookie categories
Essential storage remains active because it remembers your privacy choice. Analytics and advertising preferences can be changed whenever you want.
Consent categories
Essential
Essential storage is used for core privacy-preference behavior. In the current implementation, the sal_consent cookie records your analytics and advertising choices and is configured for up to 180 days. Because this storage is needed to remember the privacy choice itself, it is treated as always on in the preference interface.
Analytics
Analytics is optional. The starter exposes an analytics consent state so a production analytics tool can be initialized only after analytics consent has been granted. SmartAbodeLab should identify the actual analytics provider in the Privacy and Cookie Policies before enabling it in production.
Advertising
Advertising storage is optional. Advertising or measurement scripts that require consent should be initialized only after the advertising category has been granted. If Google advertising products are enabled for regions where Google requires a certified consent-management platform, the production implementation should use an appropriate certified solution in addition to meeting applicable legal requirements.
Newsletter consent is separate
Choosing analytics or advertising preferences does not subscribe you to the SmartAbodeLab newsletter. A newsletter subscription happens separately when you actively submit your email address through a newsletter form. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the method provided in those messages or by contacting hallo@smartabodelab.com.
Consent is not the basis for every activity
Data-protection law provides multiple possible lawful bases for processing. For example, technical information may need to be processed to deliver or secure a website, and information may need to be retained to comply with a legal obligation. The fact that SmartAbodeLab offers a consent panel does not mean that every processing activity relies on consent.
Withdrawing or changing consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw or change that consent for future processing. Use the Cookie Settings control on this page or in the footer to change optional site preferences. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful where valid consent applied at the time.
Your GDPR rights
Where the GDPR applies, individuals may have rights including being informed about processing, obtaining access to personal data, correcting inaccurate data, requesting deletion or restriction in appropriate circumstances, objecting to certain processing, receiving portable data where applicable, and withdrawing consent. Some rights are subject to conditions and exceptions under the law.
Make a privacy request
Email hallo@smartabodelab.com and describe the request clearly. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to understand the request and verify identity where appropriate. You may also have the right to contact or lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority.
What this page does not do
This page is not a blanket request for consent to every form of data processing. It explains the optional consent controls implemented by SmartAbodeLab and provides a route for exercising privacy rights. The production configuration of analytics, advertising, newsletter, hosting, and other providers should remain accurately documented in the Privacy Policy as those services change.
